I’m doing another post with my Makeup Wars sisters and this week we’re talking about some our favorite beauty items that just happen to be under $10 a piece. This is easy for me since I tend to lean more to lower-end cosmetics versus the expensive stuff. I can make more money in life and still have a hard time justifying a $40 mascara. Seriously, y’all. Luckily the babies that I’m mentioning in this posts are not only affordable but easy to find, too. Woohoo!
Best Eye Shadow Palette: Sleek Makeup – $9.60
I first discovered Sleek Makeup sometime last year and I’ve been hooked on them ever since. They recently sent me a box of goodies and I got to sneak a peek at a new palette. I haven’t tried them all but I do own thier i-Divine AU Natural Palette and giiiiirl, lemme tell you. It is the real deal. I’m amazed at how cheap they are because the quality of the shadows are pretty stellar. Long lasting, extra pigmented and full of various textures, I have yet to come across a palette from them that I didn’t love.
Best Makeup Brushes: Real Techniques – $9.92
I’ve been on the Real Techniques bandwagon for quite some time and I’m still a rollin’. They can do no wrong in my eyes. They are the reason why I don’t even look at higher end makeup brushes. Sold online and at ULTA, finding a makeup brush that is efficient and lasts through tons of applications and washes couln’t be easier. I have a ton of their brushes but really it’s this Core Collection set that I can’t get enough of. I recommend it time and time again to anyone who wants really good makeup brushes that are also affordable.
Best Mascara – L’Oreal Voluminous – $5.60
It’s an oldie but goodie and I know I’ve tested and reviewed many mascaras but nooooothing can beat this one. If the goal is SERIOUSLY DRAMATIC lashes, this mascara never fails. It isn’t waterproof and can easily contribute to spider lashes but a generous coat or two of this stuff can take can puny lashes to the next level. It will also be a staple.
Best Lippy: NYX Cosmetics – $5.97
I could swim in lip products. Literally. I just checked and I have a good 12 lippies in my purse right now. One of them is NYX’s Lip Butter in Sugar Cookie. I’m slathering this baby on the lips at least every other day. It’s moisturizing and although it doesn’t provide a ton of pigment, I love taking it to the next level by pairing it with a berry lipliner. It’s extremely versatile and I like the shine it gives to the lippies.
Best Top Coat: Seche Vite – $5.18
Honestly, I find that most top coats suck. There are so many factors that can play into why a top coat lasts or doesn’t last. One that doesn’t seem to budge for many people is Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat. It rules. I used to buy this stuff by the bucket. I haven’t been able to use it lately because I don’t think some of the ingredients are pregnancy safe but you better believe I’ll have SV ready to go in my postpartum days.
